There are things in this life that common knowledge will not tell us. There are things, which we take for granted each and every day and there are things that we just might not know about but are extremely interesting... Did you know?
- Americans now eat
an amazing 152 pounds of various sugars and sweeteners every year.
- If you were to look
through you pantry and removed all products that contained high fructose
corn syrup including soft drinks and found alternatives for those items
you could lose 15lbs. in three months without changing anything else in
your diet or exercise program.
- There
is approximately 1 gram of mercury in a typical fever thermometer. This is
enough to contaminate an entire lake with the surface area of
approximately 20 acres to the degree that fish would be unsafe to
eat...imagine the mercury in your mouth right now from "silver"
amalgam fillings? (Note: the average amalgam filling contains more than
1/2 gram of mercury)
- There
are many viable alternatives to pesticide use in your home. Killing
spiders and ants with spray pesticides only mask the infestation and
poison your home for longer than you might think. Even if the pesticide
eventually washes away with rain and yard work, the environmental impact
can be heavy.
- Some
of the ingredients in childhood vaccines are: aluminum (additive to
promote antibody response), formaldehyde (disinfectant), phenol (disinfectant, dye) benzethonium chloride
(antiseptic), methylparaben (antifungal, preservative) and thimerosal
(mercury disinfectant/preservative) . (Note: thimerasol has been
removed from "most" vaccines in recent years over increase in
parent concern, however, thimerasol has been said to still be in vaccines
as, "detectable but not measurable amounts.")
- Contrary to
antiquated beliefs women with inverted nipples can, in fact, still
breastfeed their children. Often
times it can take some extra work but it is entirely possible with
determination.
